In traditional Chinese culture, the badger symbolizes blessings and protection. Such ornaments were often worn as personal talismans, reflecting the wearer’s hopes for good fortune and a prosperous life.
Jade carving reached new heights during the Qing dynasty, especially under the patronage of emperors like Qianlong, who greatly admired the stone. Craftsmen produced intricate works ranging from imperial seals and ritual vessels to personal ornaments and pendants.
