Background Info:

This plastic wrapped Carlisle small first aid dressing was produced by the United States during World War II for use by individual troops, who often carried them in their pistol cartridge holders.

First aid packets containing Carlisle bandages were issued throughout World War II, first in pressed brass or tin containers and later in coated wax or foil wrapped boxes in an effort to save resources. Packets made in 1941 or later included sulfanilamide, a drug used to prevent infections that revolutionized the treatment of wounds on the battlefield.

A Certificate of Authenticity accompanies this item.
