Background Info:

These Japanese book is titled Hito No Kagami (literally "human mirror"), best translated as "Paragon of Human Virtue." It was published by Gakumu-ka Hensan of the Academic Affairs Division of Ehime Prefecture in 1927. Though mostly text, it features a few large, detailed woodblock illustrations throughout.

The Shōwa era covers the reign of Emperor Shōwa (better known as Hirohito in the West), who ruled from 1926 until his death in 1989. It saw the rise and fall of Japan as an ultranationalist empire, with the climax being World War II.

A Certificate of Authenticity accompanies this book.

Item Details:

The cover of this book is stained and worn, but the interior pages are all mostly intact. The binding is strong as well.

Japanese books are read right to left (instead of left to right) and are bound on the right side, contrary to those in Western languages. The pages may be double layered, and care must be taken to ensure that they do not separate when flipping through.

Keep these books pristine: they MUST be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of bugs!
