Maria Theresa was the ruler of the Habsburg dominions from 1740 until her death in 1780, the only woman to hold the position in her own right. She was the sovereign of Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Bohemia, and Transylvania along with many other territories. The queen faced many challenges at the start of her 40-year reign, including the War of the Polish Succession and the Russo-Turkish War, which left the state weakened and impoverished. Despite this, she managed to secure the support of the Hungarians for the war effort and successfully defended her rule over most of the Habsburg monarchy.

On the home front, Maria Theresa made many institutional, financial, medical and educational reforms, and strengthened Austria's international standing. However, she was also known to have discriminatory views towards Jews and Protestants, occasionally expelling them to remote areas.

Each includes a Certificate of Authenticity and glass top display box as shown in the listing photos.
