This three volume series of Japanese textbooks is titled Illustrated Books of the Physical World (訓蒙窮理図解., Kinmo Kyuri Zukai) and was published in 1868 by Fukuzawa Yukichi. This was the beginning of Japan's Meiji era, during which imperial rule was restored and the nation began to modernize into a world power.
The book features many woodblock illustrations displaying scientific concepts, ranging from astronomy to fluid dynamics, with Japanese text accompanying each.
A Certificate of Authenticity accompanies these books.
The books are all in great condition, with minor discoloration. The pages are all intact and mostly undamaged. The covers of all three books feature handwritten annotations. The binding is strong as well, though it has likely been replaced.
Japanese books are read right to left (instead of left to right) and are bound on the right side, contrary to those in Western languages. The pages may be double layered, and care must be taken to ensure that they do not separate when flipping through.
Keep these books pristine: they MUST be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of bugs!
