International Telephone and Telegraph, also known as ITT Inc, is a U.S. based company formed in 1920 after the founders acquired telephone companies in Puerto Rico and Cuba. Though ITT later purchased some telephone companies within the U.S, the majority of its early acquisitions were international—primarily in Europe and Latin America.
ITT would grow into a multi-industry conglomerate in the later 20th century. Remarkably the company still exists today, over 100 years since its founding. Currently it is based in Samford, Connecticut and primarily produces components for use in aerospace and transportation.
These specific stock certificates were issued in the 1940's when the company was based in New York City.
The stock certificate comes with a rigid archival document holder for preservation and handling. A Certificate of Authenticity is also included.
NOTE: This certificate has no value as a financial asset, and will not be honored by any extant company today.
